Areas of Focus

I am excited about the work of the Third Episcopal District Women’s Missionary Society. During our District meetings we spoke at length on how we can help educate our District and our family and friends on Human Trafficking and just how we would advocate for Human Rights for all, especially in the States of Western Pennsylvania, Ohio and West Virginia.

Advocacy Plan

To engage in conversation so everyone can gain knowledge and awareness of Human Trafficking

Partnerships

The Third Episcopal District and the Fifth Episcopal District, together, hosted a Virtual Workshop on Human Rights and Awareness with Dr. Stephany Powell, as our guest presenter. Establish future partnerships with local Authorities and Agencies who support eliminating Human Trafficking and Sexual Exploitation.

A Call To Action

To continue Human Rights support through education and legislative change regarding human trafficking. Representative Dean Madeleine from the 4th Congressional District of Pennsylvania introduced Treasury Human Trafficking Coordinator Act (H.R. 3094) on May 11, 2021 to amend Title 31, United States Code, to require the Secretary of the Treasury to designate a Coordinator for Human Trafficking Issues within the Department of the Treasury, and for other purposes.

We plan to raise awareness of Human Trafficking in the Third Episcopal District as it relates to women and children. The Third District WMS and YPD have begun planning workshops in our local communities. Our Key Message to all is Human Trafficking is a violation against Human Rights, a crime against Humanity.
