Grace, Balance, Peace, and Joy! The Sixth Episcopal District’s Three–Point Advocacy Plan on Reduction of Human Trafficking embodies strategies/personnel, review and evaluative components implemented within the six conferences mission work in compliance with the Connectional WMS NGO focus on Human Trafficking. Special recognition extended to our immediate past WMS Episcopal District President Rosemarie Rhodes Miller, Esq. and the conference presidents for their leadership and accomplishments dedicated to the Sustainable Development Goals to enhance humankind.


Initiatives/Focus

Sixth Episcopal District Conference WMS Presidents

    Atlanta North GA - Mrs. Robbie Colson Ramsey - Provided a virtual forum informing WMS members on Human trafficking awareness.Macon - Mrs. Gwendolyn M. Byrd - Received certificate of Completion on Human Trafficking Awareness from state of GA Department of Administrative Services. Brian Kemp, Governor.Augusta – Mrs. Lena L. Nwakudu – Distributed information to Area Chairs /local presidents to add workshops on Human Trafficking in their meetings.Southwest – Dr. Linda Frazier – Met goal in reaching out to victims of sex crimes and human trafficking to begin discussion with stakeholders on how SWGA WMS can assist in addressing the needs of victims. Contacted the Columbus Police Department’s Sex Crimes Division to elicit data/information regarding data on the subject.South – Mrs. Carolyn Campbell – Detailed the Three - Point Prevention Advocacy on Human Trafficking strategies consisting of gender equality, work/ economic growth, and reduction of issues of inequality on job and in community activated through various activities and projects in South Conference WMS.Georgia – Mrs. Brenda Young Price - Initiated awareness of the issue concerning Human Trafficking through supportive activities and projects.

Achievements (Point 3 – Engagement /Evaluative)

    Atlanta North GA Conference WMS created projects to identify cases of human trafficking, teaching skills to prevent sexual violence and helping those hurt most by human trafficking to overcome their trauma by partnering with local county health center, and continue with follow-up data.Macon GA Conference WMS -Received training on Human Trafficking providing a PowerPoint presentation entitled “What Does Human Trafficking Look Like? “Provided resourceful materials on forced labor, domestic servitude, sex trafficking, indicators of trafficking along with the training throughout the conference year including follow-up data.Augusta GA Conference provided sign-in and certificates to participants upon completion of the Human Trafficking Series of workshops. Included YPD in their workshops since youth are often main targets in this crime.Southwest GA Conference – Provided Round Table discussion in a therapeutic manner using licensed professionals in mental health counseling and additional social/human services as appropriate infusing follow-up data.South GA Conference plans consisted of professional and community leaders to present workshops, webinars, seminars, and retreats on SDG’s #5, 8, and 10 on human rights /human trafficking such as teaching skills on diversity, equity, inclusion, protection against violence, recognize signs of HT, health awareness and community check – ups. Stress importance of healthier lifestyles; promote financial planning and saving tips, including follow-up data.Georgia Conference – Implements quarterly workshops on how to recognize /identify ways to prevent human trafficking among women, female, and male children.
