Focus

The Sixth Episcopal District has gone beyond the awareness phase of Human Trafficking and Gender Violations. After previously studying, exploring, and analyzing the global issues of Human Trafficking and Gender Violations, our current and most relevant concentration has evolved into activating, engaging, advocating, and responding to these illegal and hideous crimes, which impact our society. Additionally, the goals seek to sustain lives and that is why the Sixth Episcopal District advocate on behalf of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) on which we focus as follows:

SDG# 3 -  Good Health And Well-Being

SDG# 4 –  Quality Education

SDG# 5 -  Gender Equality

SDG#16 – Peace, Justice And Strong Institutions

SDG #17 – Partnerships for the Goals

SDG# 11 – Sustained Cities And Communities

Action Plan And Advocacy Implemented through Our Accomplishments

In addition to activating /advocating for Human Trafficking /Violations, we continue donating to the needy, providing clothing and food security by feeding the hungry who utilize our churches through our WMS who consistently sponsor ongoing food pantries. We advocate for Quality Education by adopting schools as missionaries volunteer their time and skills to assist our children in receiving well- rounded education.

By utilizing strategies and ways to combat human trafficking/gender violence including human rights violations, each of the six conferences in the 6th district have provided active participation and tangible effects that protect those who have been neglected/exploited for economic gain by forcing violence and inequality on victims: women, children, physically /mentally impaired, immigrants. . . the list grows.

The WMS of 6th district mission work include several action techniques that attack human trafficking and human violations.

  • Partnerships with Polaris Agency- Virtual Training and Receiving 75 + Human Trafficking 101 Certificates
  • Blue Heart Campaign Participation
  • Wearing Blue in Representation of Combatting Human Trafficking
  • Recognizing Human Trafficking Day – January 11
  • Partnerships with Health Agencies to promote Good Health and Wellness
  • Display of Posters in Area Churches on Walking Away From Being Victimized

FOLLOW - UP - To continue to focus on serving, advocating and taking ACTION to curtail the violence of human trafficking and gender inequality as we partner/ unite, with change agencies and institutions embarking upon human kind to justify human rights consistently.
