Mrs. Shawn M. Ross is the Connectional UN NGO Main Representative for the African Methodist Episcopal Church. She received her Certificate of Life Membership in January 2024 and received the AME Missionary License in 2009.
Born and raised in Washington, D.C. Earning a BS degree from Hampton University, Hampton, VA. Served several years on the Board of Trustees for Hampton University, Hampton, VA. Earned a Master’s of Public Administration (MPA) from North Carolina Central University, in Durham, NC. Certified as a Professional in Human Resources (PHR).
Professional work and life experiences opened the door for me to live and work in Liberia, Arizona, California, North Carolina and Maryland. In 2010. I birthed a nonprofit named Indigo Consortium, a 501c3. We advocated for women Veterans as they transition from military service to civilian life. For over five years, we hosted the "Bull City Stand Down." Opened to all Veterans at no cost. Breakfast and lunch was served, employers, and various health services were available.
I am married to a wonderful man, Reverend Barrington B. Ross. He is the servant pastor of Robinson AME Church in Grasonville, Md. We are blessed with two adult children and one seven year-old granddaughter.
